The Melvista is a key lead up to the Derby and SAIL SESSION (1) is clearly the one to beat. He bolted in over 1800m in the J.C. Roberts stakes and was on the 7-day back-up there. He's still an improving commodity and he was simply dominant in the Melvista. Hard to see anything turning the tables on him. PLAY FAIR (2) chased well in the Roberts to finish second to Sail Session, running on from midfield. Chris Parnham now hops in the saddle in a good push for his chances. He looks the main danger but he'll need to improve sharply to beat the top pick. SUPERFLUOUS (5) gets the blinkers on first time today following a disappointing run in the Roberts. He's open to plenty of improvement now and Pike sticking is a tick. Can turn in a much better effort. PLEASE MIZTER (3) can run a bold race from the front. MAXWHOOSHTAPIN (6) looks open to improvement right up in trip now and he can give a sight.
